Skewen's Welsh Tope, Skate and Conger Club
The Club was formed in 1962 to cater for sea angling enthusiasts, with activities that include boat fishing with shore and pier fishing as a secondary interest.
Boat fishing covers the Swansea Bay (Lundy) areas, with beaches around the South and West Wales coastline at Laugharne, Ferryside, Loughor, Llangenith, Cefn Sidan, Swansea and Morfa Beach. Pier fishing is now concentrated at Mumbles Swansea. Club membership has increased over the years and is now around the 50 mark – this includes a wide range of ages with varying abilities, from Welsh International to those with no experience. |
The aim of the club is to promote the sport of fishing in South and West Wales. Members meet in an informal manner in a private room at the Rock and Fountain Skewen on the last Wednesday of the month at 8:00pm (prompt) with the aim of planning events.
