We had a great day pleasure fishing from the breakwater tody 19 May 2019. We caught loads of smoothhounds, codling and athornback ray for Steve Tucker weighing 8 ibs.

It was a very windy day for our Ship Inn fishing competition, but all went well and we had a very successful day.
The winners were:

9 and 7 year old caught 7.5lb Smoothhound

The photograph shows 9 year old Ashton Davies with his 7Year old brother Sunny proudly showing the 7.5lb smoothhound they caught on their 1st fishing trip to Knab Rock. They were fishing under the supervision of Paul Morgan.  A cracking catch for a first fishing trip.


Twelve Knights Open Fishing Competition for Charity (15 May 2016)

The competition took place on Aberavon Beach, weather good  but a bit chilly in the wind. The competition was sponsored by the Twelve Knights Hotel who also provided free sausage & chips for the anglers following the presentations. The awards were present by Angela Jones and Lucy Worral, £730 was raised for Tenous and PAKA kids coaching.

Oystercat fishing trip (15 February 2015)


Gwyn Thomas reports that  a few species were caught including:- dogfish, spurdog, conger, cod, and a 3 bearded rockling were caught on the trip

Oystercat fishing trip Monday 29 December 2014

Monday on the Oystercat . Skipper John Elvins took SA1 and Mumbles members boat fishing starting off  Morfa Beach to try for Cod, but the Dogfish were in abundance. So John took us over to Sker point , this proved a good move as Daron Lawry and Clive Jones hit cod straight away, also Daron caught a conger and new member Paul Applegee won the day with a 7.5lb Conger.  All the boys to said a big thank John for the wonderful day and the copious amounts of tea and coffee as well as breakfast rolls he provided.

Junior Member James Bibb 36cm Flounder
18 anglers from SA1 fishing club,MMBFC,and Cwavon SAC , fished this event.  70 fish were caught  including Turbot, Flounder, dabs and whiting. Stan John caught the biggest fish with a 39cm flounder. Stan of MMBFC also collected the £50 pot. Junior James Bibb with a 36cm flounder came in second and joint 3rd were Martyn Wilde and Martin Bibb with 35 cm flounder.

Daron Lawry recently went night fishing from a shore mark near Porthcawl.  Using a clip down rig and crab bait he landed this 17lb 6oz smoothhound.
