The charities being supported through PAKA fishing events are: Morriston Hospital (Malcolm Lloyd Memorial), Ysgol Crug Glas (in memory of John Barlow's Grandson), MACMILLAN Cancer Support and Marie Curie (Karen Thomas Memorial Shield). Your full support is most welcome for these events.

Your support is required to help Tymeika - Charity competition in January 2019
I have managed to persuade ABP to open some of the Breakwater for the Tymeika Lunt competition, numbers are strictly limited, so to guarantee a place I would advise pre booking, we only have 43 place left, under no circumstances can we get extra places. Alan Duthie

For those of you who don’t know Keeston resident Tymeika – she is 33, married to James with two children aged 4 & 6 who attend our local school.
Two years ago her life was turned upside down when she suffered a stroke. At the hospital they discovered something odd on her scans & she was later diagnosed with an Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) the term used to describe a tangle of blood vessels with abnormal connections between arteries and veins. There was nothing they could do for Tymeika due to its extent & the effects it was already having on her – full right-side paralysis and ataxia. It sadly also meant that she was terminal.
Tymeika was discharged from hospital with a Zimmer frame; she was left like a wounded animal, in agony, unable to communicate fully with a broken body. She was left dragging herself helplessly around the floor daily and fighting endless battles for her basic needs. In addition she was left grieving the loss of her dignity and independence, left watching the sadness in the faces of those who love her.
But two years on Tymeika is still here, refusing to let her situation swallow her up, no matter the pain she has to endure and the battles she has to continue to fight she refuses to let her diagnosis defeat her. Last Easter a physio team visited to see how she was managing the stairs - she was immediately promised a stair lift, but it has still not arrived. Also a wheelchair which arrived from wheelchair services was incomplete and not fit for purpose. It is draining for Tymeika to stay positive when she is constantly begging for essential life enhancing basic facilities.
To add to her intolerable situation, eight days after Tymeika & her family celebrated her 2 year survival day she cruelly learnt that she now has cancer.
Unfortunately, the NHS as wonderful as it is moves very slowly and for someone who has a terminal diagnosis time is the one luxury she cannot afford.
Therefore we want your help to raise as much as we can to help Tymeika to acquire some basic, much needed essential equipment so that she can lead a life with dignity & comfort – things that we all take for granted.

Skydive Swansea promotes and helps people raise funds for charities through tandem skydiving. Through individual efforts at fundraising by skydiving people have the option to experience the thrill of skydiving and help raise much needed funds for charity. Lee Jones is did a skydive on August 17 to raise money for Ty Rhosyn Palative Care Unit in Port Talbot. 100% of the money raised is going to Ty
Rhosyn Palative Care Unit. Lee will be paying the full cost of the skydive £220 as his contribution along with all the donations which raised £1000.

Angela the stewardess of the 12 Knights Hotel, Port Talbot is being cared for in Ty Rhosyn Palative Care Unit. Angela and the 12 Knights have been fantastic supporters of PAKA and our charity fund raising competitions so we want to try and raise as much as possible to help Angela and the work of Ty Rhosyn Pallative Care Unit. Lee Jones came up with the offer to make a difference and we support him whole heartedly with his preparation and money raising. Angela is continuing to sponsor PAKA charity fishing competitions to the tune of £500.
